Darren Catalano is the CEO of HelioCampus, leading company strategy and operations. Since launch, Darren continues to serve as the face of HelioCampus in the market through both a business development and thought leadership capacity. Prior to joining HelioCampus, Darren was the Vice President of Analytics at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) from 2011 to 2015 where he helped develop a culture of data-driven decision making. Under Darren’s leadership, the Office of Analytics built a technology platform and sophisticated approach to data analyses for senior leadership across the university community. Recognizing the value this model could bring to other universities, the University System of Maryland Board of Regents approved a plan to spin off the Office of Analytics into a new company, HelioCampus. Prior to joining UMUC, Mr. Catalano ran the Business Intelligence department at Rosetta Stone, where he built new analytics functions into finance, accounting, sales, marketing and customer operations. He began his career as an analyst for Verizon Communications (formerly Bell Atlantic) before working as a management consultant across multiple industries. Mr. Catalano earned a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia.

Maureen Walsh David, JD is the vice president and general counsel for UMUC. She joined UMUC in 2010, as the deputy general counsel in the Office of Legal Affairs. The Office of Legal Affairs provides a wide range of advice and counsel to all areas of the university. Walsh David also values her opportunity to work directly with UMUC students in her role as an adjunct faculty member at UMUC.
Before joining UMUC, Walsh David combined her background in employment law and her commitment to education and public service as an assistant attorney general at the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, a position she held for over twelve years. During her time there, she was senior counsel for outreach and training in the educational affairs division, counsel to Baltimore City Community College, and counsel to the private career school section of the Maryland Higher Education Commission. Walsh David received an Exceptional Service Award for her work in 2005.
Walsh David earned her JD from University of Maryland School of Law, a Master of Science in library science from Simmons College, and an undergraduate degree from Harvard University. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association as well as the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
Ray Henderson is an educational technology entrepreneur, strategic advisor, and seed stage investor. As an operating executive he helped conceive and launch several of the most recognized products in the education technology market. As an organizational leader he's an advocate of fundamentals, plain speech, and simplicity. He's an evangelist for open technology standards including Common Cartridge and LTI.
Burck Smith is the CEO and founder of StraighterLine. Ten years before launching StraighterLine in 2009, he co-founded SMARTHINKING, the largest online tutoring provider for schools and colleges. Burck has written chapters for three books on education policy for the American Enterprise Institute (AEI). He is a member of the American Enterprise Institute's Higher Education Working Group. Prior to starting SMARTHINKING, Burck was independent consultant and journalist whose clients included the Gates Foundation, Microsoft, Computer Curriculum Corporation, the CEO Forum on Education and Technology, the Milken Exchange on Education and Technology, Teaching Matters Inc., Converge Magazine, Wired Magazine, Wired News, University Business, the National School Boards Association and more. In the early 1990's, he wrote articles on a variety of subjects including creating community telecommunication networks, electronic access to political information, telecommunications deregulation and the ability of utilities to serve as telecommunications service providers. Burck holds a Master's Degree in Public Policy from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government and a B.A. from Williams College.

Pete Young is Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at the Institute of International Education (IIE), where he leads global technology efforts and serves as a key member of the executive team, playing an active role in the strategic planning of the organization. Mr. Young has more than 30 years of global leadership experience in technology, business development, strategic planning, governance, outsourcing, and organizational development across the higher education, software development, biopharmaceutical, and telecommunications industries. Previously, Mr. Young was Senior Vice President for Business Development at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC), reporting to the President. In this role, he was responsible for identifying, championing, driving, and generating new business and new revenue streams. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the creation, funding, and launch of HelioCampus, Inc., a Higher Education Analytics company spun-off from UMUC’s Office of Analytics; UMUC Ventures, Inc., a non-profit supporting organization designed to commercialize UMUC assets and build significant endowment for UMUC; and AccelerEd, LLC, an education enablement company created from UMUC’s Office of Technology. Prior to this role, Mr. Young served as Senior Vice President for the Office of Analytics, Planning, and Technology and Chief Information Officer, leading multiple divisions within the University and serving on both the Executive Committee and President’s Cabinet.
Mr. Young has also previously served as vice president and CIO of Rosetta Stone, the world’s leading language-learning software company, and vice president and CIO of MedImmune, a global Biopharmaceutical company that was acquired by AstraZeneca.
Mr. Young serves as Director and Treasurer for HelioCampus, Inc.,
