For the first time, HelioCampus is hitting the road for a three-stop roadshow that kicks off on March 17, 2026 in Indianapolis. Register today for this one-day event at the historic Bottleworks Hotel.

AGENDA

8:00 - 9:00 | Start the day with connections
Come early for a networking breakfast with members of the HelioCampus community and team.

9:00 - 10:30 | Welcome from Ball State University & Interactive Keynote with HelioCampus Leadership
Hear from Loren Malm, CIO & VP of IT at Ball State University, followed by an interactive workshop with HelioCampus CEO Darren Catalano and the product leadership team.

In this competition-style workshop, your team has been appointed by the President of your college to decide how to invest $8M of strategic funds. A simulation of how investments play out in the real world will establish winning and losing teams. This session is high-energy, collaborative, and fun—while surfacing powerful lessons about tradeoffs, risk, and long-term impact. The workshop will conclude with a keynote from HelioCampus CEO Darren Catalano, who will share how HelioCampus is evolving to help institutions navigate today’s increasingly high-stakes environment.

10:30 - 11:00 | HelioCampus Product Showcase
Gain a deeper understanding of HelioCampus' product suite in this fast-paced lightning session.

11:00 - 11:45 | Client Show and Tell

Inspired by the top-rated Dashboard Show and Tell session from our Community Summit, this session will showcase clients sharing how they solved a specific problem using our tools or data. Krisztina Filep from the University of Massachusetts Amherst will open the session and other attendees are invited to join in the fun.

11:45-12:15 | Cultivating Wellness: Turning AACOM Survey Data into Actionable Insights
In this session, you’ll see how multiple, complex data streams—from student, faculty, and site administrator wellness surveys to campus climate assessments—were consolidated into interactive dashboards that led to actionable insights.

High-quality assessment starts with high-quality data. In this breakout session, Susan Landers and Carey Smouse will explore practical, field-tested best practices for collecting assessment data that is reliable, actionable, and aligned to institutional goals. Participants will discuss common challenges in data collection—such as survey fatigue, inconsistent processes, and data quality issues—and learn strategies to improve participation, streamline workflows, and ensure data can be confidently used for decision-making and reporting. Attendees will leave with concrete ideas they can apply immediately to strengthen their assessment efforts.

You’ve already done the hard work—mapping curriculum, assessing programs, and collecting evidence of student learning. This breakout session shows how that work directly feeds into Comprehensive Learner Records (CLR) and how achievable it is to get started today. We’ll walk through how existing assessment and curriculum data connects to CLR, what it takes to set things up, and how program-level assessment is displayed within the CLR. Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of how their current practices can serve as the foundation for meaningful, learner-centered records—without starting from scratch.

Understanding the return on investment of academic programs is critical—but it requires close alignment between finance and academic leadership. In this breakout session, Loralyn Taylor, Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness & Analytics at Ohio University will share insights on how institutions can more clearly measure academic program ROI and use that information to support strategic decision-making. The session will explore how to calculate academic contribution margin, how programs with positive margins can help subsidize mission-critical offerings with lower or negative margins, and best practices for fostering productive collaboration between finance and academic leaders.

Strong analytics depend on strong data governance—but making it work in practice can be challenging. In this breakout session, Cole Heady from Ball State University and Jack Neill from HelioCampus will co-present on how effective data governance supports trusted, actionable analytics across an institution. Cole will share how Ball State approaches governance in practice, while Jack will provide additional perspective on governance models and patterns seen across institutions. Attendees will learn how governance structures, roles, and processes help ensure data quality, clarity, and confidence for decision-makers, along with practical lessons and takeaways they can apply to their own data governance efforts.

Explore how HelioCampus partnered with the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) to revolutionize their approach to institutional health. In this session, you’ll see how multiple, complex data streams—from student, faculty, and site administrator wellness surveys to campus climate assessments—were consolidated into interactive dashboards.

We will demonstrate how these visual tools allow AACOM to move beyond static reporting to a dynamic "Deep Dive" into critical metrics like growth mindset, resilience, and emotional exhaustion. Learn how these insights are being used to identify trends across Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (COMs) and drive meaningful improvements in the medical education environment.
